Pisgah National Forest—Naventure

THE GOAL

Naventure, which runs outdoor recreation programs in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest, needed a nature journal built for the families who actually show up on the trail — not just the demographic most interpretive materials default to.

WHAT WE MADE

We designed a Nature Journal for ages 5–12, filled with hands-on field activities — Wildflower Bingo, Tree Ring Dating, Night Sky Stories, and more.

THE DESIGN STORY

The real choice was swapping the standard scavenger hunt for a Lotería-style activity — a small shift, built on NAI-certified interpretive training rather than a generic template, that makes an Anglo-default format feel like home to Mexican-American families too.
