Bayou Vermillion District

THE GOAL
Bayou Vermilion District, a nature and heritage site in Lafayette, Louisiana, needed a self-guided piece to close a gap in their environmental tour — something scaled for young hands and paced to a single school visit.

WHAT WE MADE
A custom 6"x9", 28-page Jr. Naturalist journal for ages 6–12, printed in a first run of 500 copies.

THE DESIGN STORY
Every page was built to their site. BVD's team hand-picked the content down to a Louisiana-specific bird checklist and native tree list. The waterways map alone went through three rounds until it was truly theirs — hand-marked to name every bayou a young naturalist would actually cross on the walk.
