Through Their Eyes

Regularly review and update publications and signage.

With busy schedules, these necessary updates often fall to the bottom of our to-do list or can be hard to notice if you’ve been at your site for a long time. We suggest the following to help keep things looking fresh:

  • Fresh eyes from new employees, interns, or volunteers can help you see areas for improvement.

  • Clean signage frequently and promptly replace UV damaged or vandalized signage (ever heard of the broken windows theory?).

  • Temporary signs should be professional. Signs that are generally printed onsite and changed frequently, should still be clear, consistent, and use professionally branded templates like ours here.

  • Walk in the shoes of your visitors and provide staff and volunteers time to experience your site and programs as themselves.

  • Swap parks by partnering with neighboring park teams for an exchange of helpful, constructive feedback.
